The role of IP in a new post crisis world: Challenges of the IP system

Global Digital Encounters: 1st Encounter (May 8th)

Fide and TIPSA have come together to hold a series of #GlobalDigitalEncounters that aim to provide an overview of the growing role of intellectual property in the post-crisis landscape. The first took place yesterday (May 8th), and was a great success.

FIDE (Foundation for Research on Law and the Enterprise) (Legal and Business Research Foundation) and TIPSA (Transatlantic Intellectual Property Academy) join forces to organize a serial of  Global digital Encounters to be scheduled along the year 2020 around the topic “The Growing Role of Intellectual Property in the Post-Crisis Landscape”. All Encounters are opened to any interested person and speakers have been selected among the most relevant IP scholars and professionals all over the world.
Participation is free!

The Encounters are directed by Prof. Laurent Manderieux  (Bocconi University) and Coordinated by Javier Fernández-Lasquetty (Elzaburu | Member of Fide's Academic Council).
Encounter 1 took place on Friday 8th of May 2020, from 5 pm to 6 pm (Madrid Time Zone), and aimed to provide a broad picture of the challenges of the IP system in a post-crisis environment.

To do so, we had the honour of counting with internationally renowned panelists: Prof. Anselm Kamperman-Sanders (Maastricht University), Prof. Jane Ginsburg (Columbia University), and Prof. Laurent Manderieux (Bocconi University), all of them moderated by Prof. Manuel Desantes (University of Alicante. Member of Fide's Academic Council).

The encounter is now published online for everyone to see. (For a better experience we recommend viewers also download the chat document posted below with the Q&A from the event)

The 1st encounter was a total success. Over 800 professionals from more than 50 countries signed up to the event, which at its peak reached 500 viewers. They, in turn, made the event all the better by actively participating in the Q&A section, which can be found and downloaded here:
