Descripción
Fide holds the second edition of the Congress on Artificial Intelligence and Intellectual Property.

Introduction:

A year has passed since the First Congress on Artificial Intelligence and Intellectual Property was held in Alicante and we have been able to see how some of the problems pointed out then are becoming more clear. The development of computer science, the sophistication of AI tools and algorithmic capacity, the accumulation of large amounts of data etc. are already creating tensions in the economic and technological world and therefore in the current legal framework. However, it is true that the legal community is reacting and there are numerous initiatives and studies to try to respond to this new reality. But... is the legal world reacting fast enough and in the right direction? Are we simply trying to adapt or should we seek a new legal framework more suitable to the massive arrival of hybridated and interconnected technologies?

This year's congress will focus on a number of key aspects (authorship, ownership, eligibility for protection...) in the world of copyright as well as in the world of patents and trade secrets. In this field of technical innovation, an area of growing interest for AI will also be analysed in depth, namely the standard essential patents.

Representatives from IP international organizations, academia, law practice and industry will have a chance to share with the audience their different points of views through six panels where most of the time will be devoted to discussion.

A repository of documents, studies, information and academic papers will be created for the participants, in order to allow them to continue with the study of the different issues that will be discussed in the congress.

In order to foster discussion and networking, the number of attendants is limited, and applications will be registered at a first come first served basis. The Congress will be fully run in English.
